The Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI) is a member of theAAL Association (Ambient Assisted Living Association) and partner in KTForce project, actively participating in activities related to the evaluation, monitoring and research funding of the Romanian partners involved in Research, Development and Innovation in the field of AAL.

AAL program (http://www.aal-europe.eu/) is a research program aiming to support and fund research projects to enhance the quality of life of older people and strengthen the industrial base in Europe through the use of information and communications technology (ICT). Motivation for funding research in this area is sustained by the demographic changes and the process of aging population in Europe, which implies not only challenges but also opportunities for citizens, social and health systems, as well as for industry and the European market in ICT.

In this context, at the European Commission proposal, the Ministry of National Education through the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI), will organize in Romania, Bucharest, between 9th – 12th of September 2014, the 6th Forum Ambient Assisted Living (AAL), under the title "Broader, Bigger, Better – AAL solutions for Europe”.

The event will also facilitate the reflection upon what has been achieved in the programme so far and to show best practices examples of successful solutions, and evaluate the impact in terms of increased independence for older adults and the economic growth.
Considering the European importance of the above event, we would be delighted to invite you to participate to the AAL Forum 2014. For more information regarding the event, please visit the AAL Forum website http://www.aalforum.eu/

During the AAL 2014 Forum, different satellite events are going to be organized (http://aalforum.uefiscdi.ro/event/side). An exhibition dedicated to the AAL    (http://www.aalforum.eu/exhibition) and also a photo exhibition (http://www.aalforum.eu/photo-exhibition) where your participation will be appreciated.  One of the most important satellite event is the Young Researcher’s Workshop (http://www.aalforum.eu/young-researchers-workshop) which has the theme “the role of entrepreneurship in the development of technological innovation for elderly”.
