Using and further developing existing innovative and technological potentials of regions in Eastern Germany.

Resources of various regional actors, including enterprises, universities and public research organisations, are combined to carry out a R&D project. Funding is provided for conducting this collaborative R&D project and for setting up an organisational frame.

The funded R&D activities should result in innovations that provide a nexus for growth, particularly by commercialising the new technology internationally. All R&D projects should have a clear commercialisation focus from the beginning on.
