What is the aim/objective? 
Its main missions are as follows : (i) supporting the development of innovation and technology transfer in enterprises, (ii) management of the "collective actions" (clusters initiatives) (iii) animation of the regional scheme supporting the "creation of innovative businesses", (iv) reinforce the regional attractiveness at the national and international level.
Give an overview of the instrument 
ARDI Rhône-Alpes is a non profit organization created from the merger of 7 independent organizations which were offering complementary types of competencies and services to regional companies. ARDI is located in 5 important towns of the Region: Lyon, Grenoble, Saint-Etienne, Valence, and Le Bourget-du-Lac and employs more than 60 people. ARDI targets in priority Rhône-Alpes’ companies that are already engaged in an innovation process. Its core target is composed of about 4,000 companies including 3,000 SMEs, 700 subsidiaries of 200 large groups and 220 start-ups. ARDI has three main activities: business intelligence, engineering of innovation projects and regional innovation stakeholders networking. Its domains of expertise are design, ICT, materials and processes, performance, electronics and life sciences.
