What is the aim/objective? 
The Spirit of Enterprise Award is named after the late Michael Dee, a former Enterprise Ireland executive who tirelessly supported the development of enterprise across the South East. The objective of the practice is to recognise, promote and encourage the positive economic contributions made by a individuals, organisations, voluntary groups and companies in the South East region to the South East regional economy.
Give an overview of the practice 
The award acknowledges enterprise achievement and endeavor in the South-East region of Ireland by recognising and celebrating those that have made a significant contribution to enhance social and/or economic enterprise across the region. The Award is specifically aimed at those who have transcended political, physical, organisational, and/or sectoral boundaries in the South-East to further the development of enterprise and/or the spirit of enterprise across the region. The Award is open to individuals, groups, public or private sector organisations and social/voluntary sector organisations. To be eligible for the Award the nominee must be either an individual, group, public or private sector organisation, or social/voluntary sector organisation that has clearly performed significant work in any or a combination of the following: (a) Furthered the social and/or economic development of the South-East (b) Transcended political and territorial boundaries to further the development of the South-East (c) Enhanced the enterprise well-being of communities across the South-East (d) Heightened the awareness of the South-East globally (e) Enhanced entrepreneurial and enterprise activities in the South-East (f) Supported the development of a spirit of enterprise across the South-East The nominee does not have to living or working in the South-East, but the results/impacts of the nominee’s activity/work must be within the South-East.
