Give an overview of the instrument
Regional incubators structures are seen as a key measure to support co-operation between public research bodies and enterprises. A national call for project was launched in March 1999 to select new incubator structures at a regional level. The main objective was the development of collaborations between public research organisations / HEIs in order to valorise public research through the creation of technology based firms (start-ups shall either be spin-offs of public research labs or use public research innovations/technologies). An Incubator structure is a place where project bearers wishing to create new business could receive support in terms of training, advices and funding system. This policy consists in supporting an incubator called Grenoble Alpes incubator. This structure is in charge of helping projects from public research having gone through the validation of the proof of concept to develop. During their stay in Grain, maximum 18 months, the project owners will be accompanied and helped towards the creation of a viable start-up.
