KTForce partners meeting in Waterford

Academics, business leaders, and local and regional authorities representatives gathered all at the thematic seminar on “Enhancing the impact of University-Industry Interactions”, in Waterford, Ireland.

The forum took place at the ArcLabs Research & Innovation Centre of Waterford Institute of Technology on the 14th of November, and the participants from Portugal, Romania, France, Germany and Lithuania could assist to the presentations of Maria Oliveira (presenting the KTForce project), Declan Curran (presenting a work on spin-off performance), Paddy Byrne (presenting the Technology Gateway Irish programme) and Bill O’Gorman (presenting the ArcLabs model). Sean Kelly, Member of the European Parliament, also contributed to the event via a video, presenting his view on the EU position regarding innovation policies.
The meeting continued with the last study visit of the semester, where the European partners could meet the Waterford’s youngest entrepreneur Jordan Casey, of 13 years old, and visit the premises of SCHIVO, a precision engineering company with a strong history collaboration with WIT, as well as the spin-off FeedHenry.

The partners also worked on the benchmarking of the innovation policies previously collected on the 13th, and discussed on general project matters at the steering group meeting on the 15th.
